The siege 04:51
After all it came to an end fading light vanishing dreams Dominions of wiser men erased will lie Torn down the wall break through the defense the citadel is lost, the city’s doomed! Here dies the word the bard once spoke so sing the song of demise in the end Hollow lives lived in vain if nothing but the pain’s to glorify chorus I sit through furies that melancholy unfolds I step through fires trying to avoid defeat behold the fiery twist of fate and celebrate Reminiscent of older days when men were forced to face theomachies Set to rewrite mythology we step into the end as walls come down We’ll cross the line of history and ride the wings of fate to death’s embrace chorus I sit through furies that melancholy unfolds I step through fires trying to avoid defeat behold the fiery twist of fate and celebrate [harmony lead: Tonoli] chorus I sit through furies that melancholy unfolds I step through fires trying to avoid defeat behold the fiery twist of fate and celebrate

Tentacles 05:31
By paths regressive I’d walk back to (the) primeval coil when older beings stood still blended in sheer harmony I call for forces unknown fallen into oblivion and carved into memories forbidden for us to see chorus The wheel of Time keeps turning wish it was mankind morning the weight of Earth I feel the depth of skies I sing From the scars of odd worlds collapsed through bleak centuries civilizations that mankind forgot be reborn Witness resurging tall temples I’d never seen before across the open sea tentacles rise from the deep chorus [x 2] The wheel of Time keeps turning wish it was mankind morning the weight of Earth I feel the depth of skies I sing [1st solo: Tonoli; 2nd solo: Lupi] chorus [x 2] The wheel of Time keeps turning wish it was mankind morning the weight of Earth I feel the depth of skies I sing

Sunken to bare nothingness I’ll see colossal wrecks desert sands as only keeper of a fading might Idols of magnificence shall fall apart and drown cries of woe be heard tonight for prophecies are sound Sad are they whose reign is torn for struggle is forlorn statues shall outlive the men who built them long ago chorus Take my hand on the eve of the end eve of the end Take my hand on the eve of the end eve of the end Take my hand on the eve of the end eve of the end Take my hand on the eve of the end gods defend! Men we are, myth will become an empire is no more failure then the gods have sent as doom came from the stars Men we were, myth have become a story to be told poetry of ancient lore will last forevermore Strong are they whose reign is born as soon as it is born failure then they’ll know themselves as stars conspire again chorus Take my hand on the eve of the end eve of the end Take my hand on the eve of the end eve of the end Take my hand on the eve of the end eve of the end Take my hand on the eve of the end gods defend! [solo: Lupi] chorus II Take my hand on the eve of the end eve of the end Take my hand on the eve of the end eve of the end Take my hand the eve of the end take...

Gone adrift for years witness of misery and fears lost all I’ve ever got seeking oblivion Right through the battlefields of ageless empires I saw days of decay I’ve sung fall of modernity bridge Ancient stones lie lighted by the stars above monuments that warn us of the gods’ presence chorus Feeling the thrill of ages old walking the trail that I had lost Feeling the thrill of ages old step through the mem’ries of the stones (Of) whom who saw the whole dominion of men and gods I will cover the glorious path beyond mortality Right in the middle of the desert sands I will seat and let the winds of woe whisper Enkidu’s name chorus Feeling the thrill of ages old walking the trail that I had lost Feeling the thrill of ages old step through the mem’ries of the stones [solo: Lupi] chorus Feeling the thrill of ages old walking the trail that I had lost Feeling the thrill of ages old step through the mem’ries of the stones [harmony lead: Lupi]

Skies are falling down do you feel the way I do? Mother wisdom, father war Men and gods, then we were both at the great doors of the true sublime [solo: Tonoli] Tame’s the roar of ages old till the day the tide will change unquiet brows they will regain their crowns chorus [x 2] What you feel it to be now? Iceberg 04:39
Bygone the times of the fall back to the essence of ice catharsis I have sought from the scars that I have fought Follow the traces unknown of temples built by the wind engraved at the dawn of time forsaken outer lore chorus Floating down like memories crossing distant seas messenger from the utmost realms outpost of ice Floating down like memories kept in icy dreams messenger from the utmost realms outpost of ice Bygone the times of the fall back to the essence of ice catharsis I have sought from the scars that I have fought Follow the traces unknown of temples built by the wind engraved at the dawn of time forsaken outer lore chorus Floating down like memories crossing distant seas messenger from the utmost realms outpost of ice Floating down like memories kept in icy dreams messenger from the utmost realms outpost of ice [1st solo: Lupi; 2nd solo: Tonoli] chorus Floating down like memories crossing distant seas messenger from the utmost realms outpost of ice Floating down like memories kept in icy dreams messenger from the utmost realms outpost of ice

Born under distant skies I saw all my world coming down temples melting to clay and the seven seas petrify I crawled before strange idols with no name they were mute to me, didn’t tell... Brought by the storm they were but leading the tempest as well forcing us to bow down as if they were deities unknown Will the stones I carved ever speak of me tell the ones who’ll come nothing but... chorus [x 2] I’ve been crying all the time for centuries forlorn praising all the time past centuries [harmony lead: Lupi; solo: Tonoli] Born under distant skies I saw all my world coming down temples melting to clay and the seven seas petrify I crawled before strange idols with no name they were mute to me, didn’t tell... chorus [x 2] I’ve been crying all the time for centuries forlorn praising all the time past centuries

Walking through these barren fields realize they’ll never bloom again Such a splendid time it was victimize I’ve seen my fondest hopes decay chorus [x2] And the day with his banner of dim radiance never came to me can’t find a place where I belong Walking through these barren fields realize I’d never live again Just to see whatever dream I may have torn into nothingness decay chorus [x2] And the day with his banner of dim radiance never came to me can’t find a place where I belong [harmony lead and solos: Tonoli] Walking through these barren fields realize the things I have left behind Knowledge, wisdom, harmony of a world emerging from the sands of yore chorus [x2] And the day with his banner of dim radiance never came to me can’t find a place where I belong

I was born into exile had no rest nor had the time to witness (the) fall of kings chaos came o’er the land doomed the temples, made them crumble down, torn apart Distant are the days of woe and the splendour’s age alike the virtue and the glory couldn’t face the ones who came as the sun set not to see the deepest of all winters chorus [x 2] Shades of men coming from A tale of a time of old Raised into barbarian pride a fate of gloom was by my side (I) longed for the lands of mine still I question both the gods and the starry vault above will we be all forgotten? chorus [x 2] Shades of men coming from A tale of a time of old [harmony interludium: Lupi – Tonoli; solo and harmony leads: Tonoli]

about

'Theomachy' is the long-awaited sophomore album from Tragodia. Hailing from Italy, Tragodia has been into the world of metal for more than 15 years, bringing forth an endless musical quest in the field of gloomy metal. 'Theomachy' is by far Tragodia’s most challenging release to date, one which the band worked upon for some three years, pushing even further the boundaries of its never quiescent sound: with Theomachy you will experience a modern blend of classic heavy metal, well-crafted low-tuned guitar riffing, versatile vocals, thrashy edges, and cinematic arrangements, provided by a real string quartet which performed on several tracks. Mastered at world-famous Finnvox Studios by renowned producer Mika Jussila, the album also features a stunning guest appearance by German ‘a cappella metal band’ Van Canto’s lead vocalist Philip Dennis Schunke on the track ‘The eve of the end’, a rocking epic tune which sets the mood for the entire album, a very coherent one when it comes to lyrical content: 'Theomachy' will lead you through tales of Epic and Tragedy, ancient Lore and lost Beauty; it’s a modern metal soundtrack for the one willing to go back in time and witness the rise and fall of empires and human ephemeral greatness. Warmly suggested for those with a wide array of metal musical tastes!
